Welcome to the Kaizen Academy's email update on forthcoming events.

Next Wednesday, 3 September 2008, is the first Wednesday in September.

This combined class will run from 6pm to 7:30 pm and will be followed by Pizza and drinks.  All Black Belts, Kyu grades and beginners are invited to attend.

Training Fee Increase for 2008   

The Kaizen Academy has decided to increase Training Fees by the change in "Cost of Living" over the past twelve months.   The change amounts to an increase of $3 per month for adults and $2 per month for all other membership groups.   These changes come into effect from 1 July 2008.   

If you have an automatic payment could you please ensure that the amount is changed for any payments on or after 1 July 2008.   

Stripe Testing   

The first whole week in August, Monday 1 September 2008 to Friday 7 September 2008, is stripe testing week.  If you wish to be tested for one of your stripes, please talk to your instructor before class so they know you need to be tested.   

Black Belts - If you can assist with running classes while the class' normal instructor is stripe testing students it would be appreciated by the instructors.   

There will be no stripe testing on Saturday or Sunday 9/10 August as we will be hosting the 2008 Seido North Island Tournament.  

September Kyu Grading   

The next Kyu grading for adults and Green belt and above children is in September.  (The next Kids grading for those below Green belt is on 13 December 2008.)   

Saturday 13 September 2008 for adults, and all green belts and above.  Checkin 8:30 am.  Grading starts 9:00 am.   

You will need to have achieved ALL Three Stripes before you are eligible to grade.   Your Training Fees will also need to be up to date.    

Email Mailing List   

We had a computer crash last week and lost our email list.  We have reconstructed our email list.  If you are on our email list and would like to be removed, or to change the email address that we are using, please reply to this email.   

Lost Property   

If you have lost any clothing, please look in the lost property box located by the shoe rack and claim what is yours.

Kaze The June 2008 issue of Kaze is on our website. If you have not managed to collect a dead tree edition from the Dojo, please download one here.  File size is 5.5 MB and requires Adobe Acrobat to view. Karate Kyohon Karate Kyohon is an illustrated book by Kaicho, the founder of the Seido style of karate. It contains all the information you need to get to Green belt level, and then a bit more.
